Soren's Gram Kathy has been learning how to embroider and last week sent us a onesie where she put her fabulous skills to work. Soren seems to love it (as evidenced by his big grin and the fact that he didn't immediately spit up or poop on it like he does with most of his clothing).

In a bit of a paradox, Benevolent Dictator Soren is determined to fight the power. Poor guy doesn't realize that he is "the man". Here's a pic of Soren spurring the masses to action:
This past weekend we drove up to Danville to run an errand and found ourselves having an unplanned adventure in Paradise. For those of you not familiar with the area, Danville is a very affluent city in the East Bay -- the shopping center we were at had a plastic surgeon on premises. Although we only meant to pick up a quick item, we ended up spending the afternoon and evening there. It was a gorgeous day so we spent some time walking around and showed Soren the beautiful black and white swans that swim through the outdoor shopping center.
Mom and Dad even splurged and had a nice dinner at a delicious restaurant by the water where Soren behaved like an angel. After dinner we decided to take a chance and try to see Star Trek which was playing in a theater across the street. Alicia was fully resigned to spending the entire movie in the lobby with a crying baby, but to our delight Soren slept through the whole thing. Not even a peep! It was such a perfect day and we wish every day could be like Danville.
Soren celebrates Cinco de Mayo by sending a special birthday message to his Grandpa.
